"Hawaii Five-O" A Go At CBS
The classic cop series "Hawaii Five-O" is returning to TV screens. According to "The Hollywood Reporter," CBS has greenlit an updated version of the popular 1970s sitcom. A debut date for CBS' new installment has not been announced. The new "Hawaii Five-O" will be written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and executive produced by "CSI: NY's" Peter Lenkov. "Hawaii Five-O" first debuted on CBS in 1968. The show aired for 12 seasons, eventually coming to an end in 1980. The series focused on a fictional Hawaii state police department as they fought to keep crime off the islands. CBS' original series starred the likes of Jack Lord, James MacArthur, Kam Fong Chun and Herman Wedemeyer.
