Alabama Tops Texas For BCS Title

Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns as top-ranked Alabama beat number-two Texas 37-21 in the BCS National Championship Game at the Rose Bowl. Trent Richardson ran for 109 yards and two TDs as the Crimson Tide finished 14-and-0. The Longhorns lost starting quarterback Colt McCoy to a shoulder injury early in the first quarter of their BCS title game loss to Alabama. Freshman backup Garrett Gilbert nearly led Texas back from a 24-6 halftime deficit, but threw four interceptions and also lost a fumble on a sack.
