Teacher Takes Students To Hooters, Placed On Leave

An Arizona teacher's choice of restaurants has landed her in hot water. The "Arizona Republic" reports that Mary Segall was placed on leave after she took a group of students to lunch at Hooters. The Paradise Valley High School music teacher took 40 students to the Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix for a performance and lunch afterwards. Segall says she took the students to lunch at Hooters because she believed it to be the only restaurant in the area that could accompany such a large group. The school district disagreed saying, quote, "There could have been a choice that might have been more appropriate." Segall was planning on retiring in January. It is not known if she will return to school before she retires.
