Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney Among Top Tours Of 2009

Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney's 2009 tours are getting some new recognition. Variety.com reports that despite the sluggish economy, concertgoers worldwide found the cash to take in some shows this year. According to end-of-year stats from StubHub Swift had the fourth-highest-grossing tour of the year with her "Fearless 2009" trek, which also featured Kellie Pickler and Gloriana. Chesney's Sun City Carnival, which included Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum, ranks ninth. U2 tops the list. The band's "360 Tour" was not only 2009's top-grossing tour, but also of the decade, besting The Police's reunion trek in 2007 and the "Hannah Montana" tour, also in '07.

Bruce Springsteen has the number two spot on the list, followed by Phish. Britney Spears rounds out the top five. Tours by the Dave Matthews Band, Elton John, and the Jonas Brothers all rank ahead of Chesney, while Metallica takes the number ten spot on the list.
