Jennifer Nettles Salutes Springsteen At Kennedy Center Honors Gala
Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles is among those saluting this year's Kennedy Center Honorees. The country star took part in the 2009 gala, which paid tribute to Mel Brooks, Dave Brubeck, Grace Bumbry, Robert De Niro, and Bruce Springsteen. Nettles joined Ben Harper in recognizing Springsteen with a medley of Springsteen's songs "My Father's House," "Glory Days" and "I'm on Fire." John Mellencamp, Melissa Etheridge, and Sting also participated in the segment honoring the rock great. Aretha Franklin, Harry Connick, Jr., Jack Black, Carl Reiner, Meryl Streep, Sharon Stone, Jon Stewart, and Ben Stiller were also among the stars who participated in the ceremony.
The 32nd annual Kennedy Center Honors gala took place earlier this month in Washington, DC. CBS will present highlights from the event in a two-hour special airing tonight at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
