Diane Sawyer Makes "World News" Anchor Debut Tonight
The Diane Sawyer era begins tonight on ABC's "World News." The veteran news personality begins her tenure in the "World News" anchor chair vacated by Charles Gibson last Friday. Gibson's farewell brought his 40-year broadcasting career to an end. The 66-year-old newsman had spent almost 35 years with ABC. Sawyer ended her almost eleven-year run on ABC's "Good Morning America" on December 11th to succeed Gibson on "World News."
