Charlie Daniels is cropping up on TV. The 73-year-old country star is featured in a new commercial for Geico. In the ad, the narrator compares the quality of coverage and service the auto insurer provides to Daniels' fiddle playing. Daniels is then seen in close-up playing a blistering, 14-second fiddle solo. But when the camera pulls back to show the full setting, viewers discover that Daniels is actually in a posh restaurant, and giving a strolling violinist who's serenading diners a quick fiddle lesson. As he hands back the instrument and walks away Daniels quips, quote, "That's how you do it, son." The spot implies that Daniels is one of the best when it comes to fiddling, and hopes viewers will make that leap about the insurance company.
