Carrie Underwood Honored To Receive Nashville Symphony Award
Carrie Underwood says she's thrilled to be a recipient of the Nashville Symphony's Harmony Award. The former "American Idol" winner says it's, quote, "a wonderful compliment and it's an amazing feeling being part of the Nashville community." Underwood received her award at the orchestra's annual Ball, which took place in Nashville last weekend. Discussing the gala, Underwood notes, quote, "It was a beautiful evening filled with wonderful music, gorgeous ball gowns and décor, and was definitely an evening to remember." With the Harmony Award the Nashville Symphony acknowledges individuals who show ongoing interest and support for the Nashville music community, and who have been a significant addition to its development. Previous Harmony Award winners include Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood, and The Judds.
