Badgers Win Champs Sports Bowl!!

For the second year in a row, the Wisconsin Badgers season ended in Orlando in the Champs Sports Bowl against an ACC team. Last year they lost to Florida State. Tuesday they faced the 14th-ranked Hurricanes of Miami. The Hurricanes got off to a whirling start. A long kick return for a touchdown was called back a few yards by a penalty. They put it at the 16, and Graig Cooper took it back into the end zone. It was a fast start for Miami, 7-0. But the Badgers responded on their second possession. Scott Tolzien went to tight end Lance Kendricks, who carried it 37 yards to the Miami 4.

Two plays later, Kendricks got the seal block and John Clay waltzed in to tie the game. After that, the Badgers defense stuffed Miami. Obrien Schofield took down Jacroy Harris. Clay then broke out, got to the sidelines for a 52-yard scamper that set up another short touchdown for him. Badgers were up 17-7 at the half.

Hurricanes still couldn't get anything going in the second half. Schofield had another sack, forced a fumble, and J.J. Watt fell on it. That led to a field goal. Miami got a late touchdown and the onside kick, but the Badgers held them, 20-14 the final. Wisconsin finished the season with ten wins and their first over a ranked team.
