Taylor Swift Missed AMAs For Charitable Reasons

Taylor Swift might have been absent from the recent American Music Awards, but it was for a good cause. OnTheTeenBeat.com says the singer took part in the BBC's Children in Need fundraiser, which took place November 20th. She sang "Love Story" during the telethon, which brought in just under 33-million-600-dollars for organizations supporting kids in the UK. TheBoot.com notes Swift also made a monetary donation of 13-thousand-British-pounds -- in honor of her favorite number, 13 -- which amounts to nearly 21-thousand-500-dollars.

Swift was the big winner at the American Music Awards. She captured five of the six categories in which she was nominated including the night's big prize of Artist of the Year.
