MORE AMERICANS GETTING AWAY FOR THANKSGIVING, MOST GOING BY CAR

Thanksgiving is just a week away, and a new AAA survey indicates a slight increase in holiday travel this year compared to 2008. More than 38-million Americans expect to venture at least 50-miles from their home in the days leading up to the big meal, while last year 37-point-eight-million Americans hit the road for the holiday. More folks will be packing up the car for their trip this time around. More than 85-percent of those getting away for their Thanksgiving vacation will be hitting the road. Thirty three-point-two-million travelers plan to drive to their destination while just six-percent are going to fly -- reflecting a drop in air travel of nearly seven-percent from last year's figures.
