Police Chase Their Own Patrol Car

(North Little Rock, AR) -- An Arkansas car thief is behind bars for not only stealing a police cruiser but also getting on the radio in the vehicle and speaking to dispatchers. It happened over the weekend in North Little Rock when a patrolman pulled up behind the department and found a man breaking into a prisoner transport van. However, it then went from bad to worse when the suspect jumped into the idling squad car and took off. Other officers joined the chase and say Allen Polk got on the radio and asked dispatch if all those blue lights behind him were quote "real police." The answer was "affirmative" so Polk pulled over and surrendered. He's charged with breaking and entering, resisting arrest, felony theft, and fleeing.
