Mattel Announces Reunion Of Barbie And Ken

Barbie and Ken are back together. Toymaker Mattel says the doll duo reunited after Ken mounted a fierce campaign to win Barbie's heart. The Ken character even used social media sites Facebook and Twitter to woo Barbie. A press release from Mattel says about Ken's efforts, quote, "even though he is plastic, his love is real." Barbie and Ken reconciled after a hiatus of nearly seven years, during which time Barbie took up with an Australian surfer named Blaine. Mattel says Barbie changed her Facebook status today to "in a relationship" and notes the couple merged their Facebook pages as a sign of their reunion.
