Kevin Smith Sheds 65 Pounds, Prompted By Airline Ejection

Fans are seeing a lot less of director Kevin Smith these days -- 65 pounds less to be exact. The 40-year-old "Clerks" director talked about his recent weight loss with HLN's Joy Behar this week, recalling an embarrassing incident that caused him to get booted from a flight last year. Smith went on a Twitter tirade against Southwest Airlines last year when the airline removed him from the plane, allegedly over concerns that he was too overweight to fly safely. He told Behar on Tuesday that he's still angry about the incident and has mixed feelings about losing the weight. He said, quote, "I felt at that moment, I was like, 'You know what? I'll lose the weight, but I'm not putting on thinner clothes." Smith says he sympathizes with heavier people far more than he ever will with thin people.
