Kenny Chesney's Attention To "Hemingway's Whiskey" Makes ACM Nomination Sweeter

Kenny Chesney says the "Hemingway's Whiskey" on store shelves doesn't include much of the material he originally recorded for the disc. The country superstar tells TheBoot.com, quote, "I had a whole other album done and almost turned it in, and I realized that in my heart of hearts, I knew that that album wasn't right." Only three songs from the initial sessions -- "Seven Days" and the hits "Boys of Fall" and "Somewhere With You" -- are among the CD's eleven tracks. Kenny calls it a "luxury" to have been able to devote so much time to the project, which was possible because he didn't go on a major tour last year.

Chesney adds that because he focused so much attention on the disc, it's especially rewarding to see "Hemingway's Whiskey" receive an ACM nomination for Album of the Year. But that's not Kenny's only shot at an award. He's also in the running for Single and Video of the Year with "Boys Of Fall." The 46th annual ACM Awards will take place in Las Vegas on April 3rd, and air on CBS at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
