Juror In Orie Trial Replaced For Sleeping

(Pittsburgh, PA) -- A juror has been replaced in Pennsylvania state Senator Jane Orie's corruption trial for falling asleep in the jury box. Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey Manning yesterday said he was dismissing a juror with an alternate because she had fallen asleep on each day of testimony so far. Other jurors have remained attentive through the often repetitive and detailed descriptions of work in Orie's McCandless district office. Several former aides have taken the stand, claiming they often performed political campaign chores on state time.
