Charlie Sheen Wants To Play "Major League" Ball Again

While waiting the go ahead to resume production on his hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men," Charlie Sheen is reportedly eyeing a return to the big screen in a "major" way. The rehabbing actor tells TMZ he'll be back on board for a third installment of his baseball comedy "Major League," if the script gets the green light. Sheen played Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn in the original 1989 movie and its subsequent sequel. And although "Major League: Back to the Minors" is technically the third film in the franchise, Sheen dismisses it as, quote, "an abortion," saying it shouldn't be counted among the rest of the "Major League" films.

David S. Ward, who wrote and produced the first "Major League," told "Moviehole" last year that he was hoping to reassemble the original cast for the film he's calling "Major League 3." The original film also included Wesley Snipes and Tom Berenger. Sheen's CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men" is currently on hiatus while the actor deals with personal issues. Production will reportedly resume on February 28th.
