Nearly One In Ten Fans Leave Pro Sports Games Drunk

(Minneapolis, MN) -- Eight-percent of pro sports fans are apparently drunk when they leave a game. A new study by the University of Minnesota found that 40-percent of those asked had something to drink, while those under 35 -- or who tailgated -- were several times more likely to be drunk when the game ended. A professor involved in the research says it wasn't easy getting fans to take a breathalyzer test at three NFL and 13 Major League Baseball games for the study but they did manage to gather information. He also says more study is needed but it seems that at least five-thousand people are leaving an NFL game too drunk to drive.
