Rock Hall Announces Class Of 2011

The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame has announced its Class of 2011. The Alice Cooper Band and Neil Diamond are among the performers set for induction next year. Tom Waits, Darlene Love and Dr. John have also been tapped to join rock's elite class. The Award for Musical Excellence, previously known as the Sidemen category, will be presented to piano-playing legend Leon Russell. The Rock Hall is also honoring non-performers Jac Holzman who founded Elektra Records and Art Rupe, founder of Specialty Records. Both will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award. The 26th Annual Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction ceremony will take place on Monday, March 14th, 2011 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. The star-studded event will be broadcast on Madison Square Garden's Fuse music television network.
