Chicago Cabbie Delivers Alleged Drug "Chemist" To The Police
There may one less drug "chemist" on the streets this week thanks to a Chicago cabbie. ChicagoTribune.com reports that an unnamed taxi driver took a man who was allegedly carrying about a half a million dollars in drugs to the authorities' doorstep over the weekend. The rider -- identified as 25-year-old Joseph Andrew Hoffman -- was reportedly unconscious by the time his destination was reached. The taxi driver says he spent ten minutes trying to revive Hoffman before driving him to a nearby police station out of concern. When Hoffman's bag was searched, police say they found what they believed to be a makeshift methamphetamine lab. The young man's satchel was allegedly filled with bottles of a "clear, crystalline substance" connected by wires to a "power source."
