FEW MANAGERS TAKE VACATIONS OVER THE HOLIDAYS

Most managers won't be taking an extended break over the holiday season. Three-quarters of those taking part in a new OfficeTeam survey will be taking no more than four additional days off between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. Just over 30-percent note the only days they won't be heading into the office will be the company holidays, while 25-percent say they might take one or two extra days off. By comparison, just 16-percent of the supervisors will be treating themselves to five or six days off, while eight-percent admit they'll be gone for seven or more days beyond their company-designated holiday time off. OfficeTeam executive director Robert Hosking notes most managers -- as well as their employees -- don't take extra time off during the holiday season because they have too much to do to get ready for the new year.
