Cat, Dog Love

(Cleveland, OH) -- A mother's instinct apparently took over last month after a puppy's mother died during birth. It happened in Ohio after the mother a chihuahua-shih tzu mix died and the owner was unable to keep up with the pace of bottle feedings. The puppy named Bambi was dropped off at the Cleveland Animal Protective League. That's where a mother cat, Mrs. Rabbit, with nursing kittens, took over, allowing Bambi to nurse as if she was one of her own. Mrs. Rabbit, Bambi and her new siblings, Thumper and Friend Owl, are expected to remain in foster care until they're ready to be spayed and neutered. Following the procedures they'll be put up for adoption.
