Oscar producers are tapping young Hollywood for hosting duties at next year's Academy Awards. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences have announced Anne Hathaway and James Franco to keep audiences entertained in between award presentations at the February 27th ceremony. Both Hathaway and Franco are starring in films that have entered the circle of Oscar buzz in recent weeks. Hathaway, 28, plays a carefree young woman who falls for a pharmaceutical rep in the new movie "Love and Other Drugs." Thirty-two-year-old Franco, meantime, has spurred chatter with his portrayal of real-life rock climber Aron Ralston in the film "127 Hours."
Oscar producers say Franco and Hathaway, quote, "personify the next generation of Hollywood icons -- fresh, exciting and multi-talented." In hosting next year's Academy Awards, the pair follow veteran comedian Steve Martin and actor Alec Baldwin who co-hosted the ceremony last year.
