Miranda Lambert Sets CMA Record With Nine Nominations

Miranda Lambert received an early birthday present this week. She became the first woman in CMA history to score nine nominations for a single awards show. On Wednesday she received four nominations -- Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for "Revolution," Musical Event for "Bad Angel" with Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson, and the one Lambert says surprised her the most -- Entertainer of the Year. Miranda already had five CMA Award nominations that had been announced on Tuesday. Those bids include Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year for "White Liar" and "The House That Built Me," and Song of the Year with "White Liar." "The House That Built Me" is also nominated for Song of the Year, which awards songwriters, but it's not one of Lambert's nominations because she didn't pen the song. Miranda admits the accolades are hard to grasp, but she's slowly beginning to comprehend it all. She explains, quote, "It just doesn't seem like it was real at first so I guess I'm coming to terms with it at this point, but I just can't believe it." The 44th annual CMA Awards will be announced in a ceremony on ABC on November 10th -- which is also Miranda's 27th birthday.
