Michael Douglas Discusses Throat Cancer With David Letterman

Hollywood actor Michael Douglas is opening up about his battle with throat cancer. The "Basic Instinct" star stopped by CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" last night and revealed that he learned of his cancer diagnosis after returning from a summer vacation. He remarks, quote, "I got a biopsy and they analyzed it," adding, quote, "they gotta go at it." Michael Douglas says his cancer is currently at stage four, noting that he would prefer it be down at stage one. The actor says the biggest concern is having the cancer spread, but for now it's contained above his neck. While he expects his treatment to get more difficult, Douglas can take comfort in the fact that his doctors give him an 80 percent chance to recover.

Michael Douglas is currently promoting his upcoming project, "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps." The film -- which also stars Shia LeBeouf, Charlie Sheen and Josh Brolin -- opens in theaters on September 24th.
