Man Steals Car From Driver Giving Him A Ride

(Huntington Station, NY) -- Charges are pending against a man from New York who allegedly thanked another man for giving him a ride by stealing his car. Suffolk County Police say Nicholas Mittler was driving Timothy Hardge home from a party in Huntington Station late last month when Hardge pulled out a handgun. Hardge then allegedly robbed Mittler of his wallet and cell phone, and then forced him out of his 2005 Hyundai. He crashed the vehicle a short time later into two parked cars and fled on foot. The 23-year-old was arrested last Wednesday and charged with robbery.
