Jamey Johnson To Debut New Album Cut On "Letterman"

Jamey Johnson is spreading the word about his new CD. He'll be visiting CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" tonight to perform the song "Lonely at the Top." The late Keith Whitley co-wrote the track with Don Cook and Chick Raines, but until now it had never been recorded. The song is one of the 25 songs on Johnson's two-disc set "The Guitar Song." It hasn't been released as a single or an advance track from the project, but Johnson will be performing it at the request of Letterman and his staff. In addition to Johnson's current single, "Playing the Part," some already-familiar tracks from "The Guitar Song" CD include "Macon," which Johnson unveiled in June with his performance at the CMT Music Awards, "Front Porch Swing Afternoon," "Heartache," and "That's Why I Write Songs," which are available in advance of the album via iTunes. "The Guitar Song" will hit stores on Tuesday.
