Jamey Johnson Teams With Matthew McConaughey For New Video

Little did Jamey Johnson and Matthew McConaughey know that their meeting backstage at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2009 would lead to a video collaboration. McConaughey acts in and directs Jamey's new clip for "Playing the Part." The shoot took place last week in Los Angeles and Johnson says of the concept, quote, "I don't think I could have dreamed anything better." The first meeting between Jamey and Matthew led to a close friendship, and a few months later Johnson was secretly invited by the actor's girlfriend, Camila Alves, to perform at McConaughey's 40th birthday celebration. When it was time to shoot the "Playing the Part" video the singer-songwriter phoned McConaughey to invite him to make a cameo appearance, and that led to the actor directing his first music video. "Playing the Part" is the first single from Johnson's "The Guitar Song," his new 25-track double album.
