Busy Night in Minneapolis....

MINNEAPOLIS — Simultaneous home games for the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins tonight could create a perfect storm of traffic delays. Throw in the Minnesota State Fair and you've got a cozy ride on public transportation.

More than 100,000 people are expected in downtown Minneapolis to watch the sporting events, which begin 10 minutes apart. With the construction of Target Field, it will be the first time both teams have played home games at the same time.

Metro Transit is urging travelers to be flexible and plan ahead. Buses and trains are expected to be at capacity beginning mid-afternoon.

Metro Transit General Manager Brian Lamb says every available vehicle will be used to get riders in and out of the downtown area and to and from the State Fair.
