Brooks & Dunn Close Out Final Show In Rain Of Confetti

It's over. Brooks & Dunn, one of the most successful and enduring musical partnerships of all time, closed the book on their 20 year run with a brisk 90 minute set and a ten minute encore at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena Thursday night. It was their final show. The performance, which also marked the final stop on their Last Rodeo tour, included special guest Reba McEntire who helped Brooks & Dunn close out their storied career by joining them on stage for a performance of their hit collaboration together "Cowgirls Don't Cry." The set ended with the duo's rendition of "My Maria." Then the encore began with "Boot Scootin' Boogie." Brooks & Dunn ended their final show with the song that started their career in 1991 -- "Brand New Man." The arena filled with confetti and the show was over.

Earlier in the day, Brooks & Dunn thanked fans via Twitter for two decades of hit records, sold-out shows and numerous awards. The duo wrote simply, quote, "Gearing up for our last show in Nashville tonight. Thank you guys for an amazing ride!"

Brooks & Dunn announced their plans to part ways in August 2009. And while Thursday's show may have marked the duo's final performance together, there is a chance that Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn may share the stage again in the not too distant future. The duo is nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year for the 44th Annual CMA Awards in November. It's an honor they've won 14 times already in their 20-year career. Tune in to the CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 10th on ABC to see if Brooks & Dunn will cap their musical partnership with one more Duo of the Year Award.
