Pharmacist Steals Gun From Thief

An armed robbery suspect was arrested over the weekend after he lost track of his weapon. The "Pensacola News Journal" is reporting that Caleb Smith entered a Pensacola CVS Sunday morning and demanded that a pharmacist give him drugs. Steven Rodick handed Smith a bag containing narcotics, at which point the 19-year-old placed his gun on the counter as he looked inside the bag. Rodick grabbed Smith's firearm -- which turned out to be a starter pistol -- and chased him from the store, eventually wrestling him to the ground and holding him until police arrived. Caleb Smith was taken to the Escambia County Jail on charges of armed robbery and grand theft.
