Matthew Perry Returns To Comedy As "Mr. Sunshine"

Look for "Friends" star Matthew Perry to return to comedy on ABC. E! Online reports that Perry will star in the alphabet network's midseason replacement, "Mr. Sunshine." The show centers on Perry as the 40-year-old manager of a sporting venue in San Diego. The dark comedy features an ensemble cast that includes TV vets Allison Janney of "The West Wing," Andrea Anders -- who co-starred on fellow "Friends" alum Matthew LeBlanc's "Joey, and James Lesure of "Las Vegas." Thomas Schlamme -- who directed both Janney and Perry on "The West Wing" -- is slated as a director on the new series.
