Those Not Required To File Return Could Benefit From Filing
Not everyone is required to file a federal tax return, but the Internal Revenue Service says there are reasons why filing could be a good idea for some of those people. Generally, those with income above a certain level must file a tax return. Filing status, age and the type of income received also determine whether a return is a must. Those who aren't required to file a return might be leaving money on the table if they don't submit one. The IRS says those people include workers who had federal income tax withheld from wages but don't reach the filing income threshold. Those who made estimated tax payments but fall under the income requirement could also benefit from filing a return. For more information, go to www.irs.gov
