The group's Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott note the song is getting a strong response in concert, adding that the change of seasons might be attracting listeners to the song. Scott says "American Honey" taps into a longing for simpler, more innocent times, and she admits she returns to that place in her own life when she's performing the song. "American Honey" is part of Lady A's sets as the group opens shows on Tim McGraw's "Southern Voice" tour. The trek is heading to Canada this week. Their next concert is coming up in Vancouver, British Columbia on Thursday.
