Kenny Chesney, Steve Miller Tape "Crossroads"

A country star and a "Space Cowboy" are ready to add to the list of "CMT Crossroads" shows. Kenny Chesney teamed up with classic rocker Steve Miller in Nashville this week to tape their installment of the series. Miller's music is familiar to country fans. His hit "The Joker" has been covered in concert by numerous country stars including Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, and even Chesney, and Chesney and Miller's collaborative performance was a hit with the crowd. While they sang a few of Kenny's songs, including "Living In Fast Forward" and "I Go Back," the focus was on Miller's music. Their set included the rock classics "Fly Like an Eagle," "Rockin' Me Baby," and "Jet Airliner." Chesney and Miller took the stage at the Ryman Auditorium for the show, which marked the first time "Crossroads" has been taped at the famed venue. While no air date has set yet, the Chesney-Miller "CMT Crossroads" is expected to debut on CMT in July.

Chesney and Miller's time together began well before the cameras started rolling, and continued long after the cameras stopped. Earlier in the day Steve gave Kenny a custom guitar, and they resolved to write a song together using it. They also extending their day beyond the taping. After leaving the Ryman they went next door to Tootsie's Orchid Lounge. They began their spontaneous performance at the club just before 11:00 p.m., and continued past midnight.
