"I Spy" Star Robert Culp Dead At 79
Actor Robert Culp has died after a fall at his home in Los Angeles. Culp, best known for his work on the 1960s TV series "I Spy," died Wednesday morning after hitting his head while taking a walk outside of his home. He was 79. Los Angeles police say Culp was found by a jogger who called 911. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. An autopsy will be conducted. Culp starred alongside Bill Cosby in "I Spy." It was the first U.S. primetime network drama to feature a black actor in a starring role. Both Culp and Cosby were nominated for Emmy Awards for their work on the series with Cosby beating out Culp each time. Following the series, Culp went on to star in his memorable film role in the movie "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice." The film was nominated for four Academy Awards. Culp's other film credits included "PT 109," "The Raiders," and the romantic comedy "Sunday In New York" in which he played Jane Fonda's fiance.
