Dixie Chicks To Open Eagles' Stadium Shows

The Dixie Chicks are getting back into action this year. The trio is slated to join the Eagles for a month-long North American stadium tour in June. The groups will launch the trek in Canada, at Toronto's Rogers Centre on June 8th. The eight-stop road trip will then visit East Rutherford, New Jersey; Boston; Philadelphia; Washington, DC; and Chicago before returning north of the border for a date in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They'll wrap up the tour at Busch Stadium in St. Louis on June 24th. Keith Urban is also on board for select U.S. dates. Tickets for all shows go on sale to the general public on March 29th.

The upcoming trek marks the Dixie Chicks' first performances in four years. The last time the group performed for fans was in 2006, when they toured in support of their CD "Taking the Long Way." the Dixie Chicks include singersNatalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Robison. The June trek is just one project on tap this year for Maguire and Robison. Earlier this year they revealed that they were working together as the duo Court Yard Hounds, and would release their debut disc in May. They plan to support the studio effort with a tour, which includes participation in this summer's Lilith Fair trek.
