Country Stars To Take Over Vegas In April

There will be lots of star power in Las Vegas next month, and not only at the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The celebs will turn out to participate in several events during "The Week Vegas Goes Country." On April 16th seven-time nominees Lady Antebellum will headline the concert at Fremont Street Experience, while six-time nominee Miranda Lambert will lead up the entertainment on April 17th. In addition, the Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Group and Top New Vocal Duo nominees will also perform during these free and open-to-the-public concerts. Meanwhile, Montgomery Gentry -- The Home Depot Humanitarian Award honorees -- will host the ACM Chairman's Ride, also on April 17th. The invitation-only bike event benefits ACM Lifting Lives, the Academy's charitable arm. For the first time Lifting Lives will partner with the USO to bring a concert to the service men and women of Nellis Air Force Base outside of Vegas. Montgomery Gentry is also on board for the special show, along with Randy Houser. The 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, will air on CBS from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on April 18th.

The festivities will continue after the awards show. The ACM All-Star Jam, which takes place after the ACM Awards telecast, will feature impromptu performances from artists participating in the awards show. On April 19th, the country stars will still be in Vegas to tape the TV special "ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn - The Last Rodeo." The duo is being honored for their 20-year career, which includes a record-breaking 26 ACM Awards. Kix and Ronnie also hold the record for most Top Vocal Duo wins with 15 awards. Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban are among those scheduled to perform. Tickets for the taping are available at Ticketmaster.com. The show will air on CBS-TV at a later date.
