Boy Creates Diversion For Burglar

(Hemet, CA) -- A little boy is knocking on doors in Southern California asking for help finding his missing cat, but police believe he's actually creating a diversion while a man burglarizes homes. The boy is described as about nine-years-old. He tells residents in Hemet that his cat went into their backyard. While he and the homeowners are in the backyard looking for the feline, a man enters the home and burglarizes it. He is described as being in his 20s, about five-feet-five, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a brown fishing hat and driving a black, full-sized, late model, pickup truck.
