Report: Andrew Koenig Hanged Himself

Actor Andrew Koenig took his life by hanging himself. That's according to EOnline.com. The website cites a source that says the actor's body was found hanging from a tree by a friend. Koenig, who played "Richard 'Boner' Stabone" on the 1980s sitcom "Growing Pains," was found dead in Vancouver's Stanley Park late Thursday. An eleven-person search party made up of family and friends combed the 1000-acre park until they made the gruesome discovery. Since Koenig's body was found in a heavily wooded area of the park, an insider says it seemed he "didn't want to be found."

Andrew Koenig's father, Walter Koenig, has posted a memorial online at WalterKoenigSite.com. It is there that the family has posted links to Andrew's work and a photo of his arrest during the 2008 Rose Bowl parade. The actor was protesting "China's support of the Burma military regime" at the time. The Koenig family asks that donations be directed to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline and The U.S. Campaign for Burma.
