"Late Show" Stage Manager Biff Henderson Injured During Show Taping
"The Late Show with David Letterman" stage manager Biff Henderson can catch a pass, but he might not be looking to sign on with an NFL team anytime soon. "The New York Daily News" says that during Monday's taping of the late night talk show, Henderson was tossing passes back and forth with host David Letterman as they waited for New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees -- one of the show's guests who was stuck in traffic. One of Letterman's passes took Henderson deeper than expected, and while he proclaimed, quote, "I caught it," he fell off the stage and into the audience in the process. Henderson said he hurt his knee in the tumble, and paramedics were called. He went by ambulance to New York's Roosevelt Hospital, where he was treated and released Monday night. Letterman, meanwhile, continued on with his show.
