Illinois Woman Cleared After Mistaken DUI Charge
An Illinois woman was quite surprised to find her identity had been stolen and resulted in her being charged with drunk driving. The "Peoria Journal-Star" reports Paige Whitaker of suburban Peoria tried to renew her driver's license at a Secretary of State's facility recently but was told her license was suspended pending a DUI charge. Whitaker was never arrested and had no idea what was going on until Kayla Rohman (picture Left) of Peoria admitted to giving police the wrong information during a December DUI arrest. The information she gave was the name and birthday of her friend, Whitaker. Rohman is charged with obstruction of justice and retroactively ticketed for DUI and other traffic violations. Whitaker's driving record was cleared and she was allowed to test for her license.
