COMMON JOB INTERVIEW MISTAKES
If you're going on a job interview, take a look in the mirror before heading out the door. Following a survey of more than 27-hundred hiring managers, CareerBuilder is offering a rundown of the most common interview mistakes. Topping the list is dressing inappropriately, cited by 57-percent of respondents. Coming in second is appearing disinterested in the position, something 55-percent note they've seen in prospective employees. Just over half of the hiring managers note it's also common -- and a bad idea -- to make negative comments about your current or most recent employer, or to appear arrogant in the interview. And don't touch that cell phone. Forty-six-percent say they've had an interview interrupted when the job seeker answered a call or text message -- and that doesn't leave a good impression. Other common mistakes -- named by 34-percent of hiring managers -- include being vague with answers and not asking the interviewer a few good questions about the job.
