The championship games in the AFC and NFC are now set after NFL playoff action this past weekend.In the NFC, New Orleans blasts Arizona to get to the game and the Saints will host Minnesota for the right to go to the Super Bowl after the Vikings crushed Dallas 34-3. Quarterback Brett Favre threw four touchdown passes and the Vikings defense caused three turnovers from Dallas quarterback Tony Romo.
In the AFC, Indianapolis defeats Baltimore 20-3 and the Colts will host the AFC title game against the upstart New York Jets after they upset San Diego 17-14 on the road. The Chargers led 7-0 at halftime but the Jets rallied to take a 17-7 lead and then held on to the win. Normally reliable Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding missed three field goals in the game to help the Jets cause.

In a sad NFL note, 26 year old Chicago Bears defensive lineman Gaines Adams died apparently from an enlarged heart. He was a former first round pick of the Tampa Bay Bucs who played his college ball at Clemson.
