Cabbie Drives To Return Money
Instead of a sleigh, Santa Claus was driving a taxi cab. A New York City cabbie drove to Patchogue twice on Christmas Eve to return a purse with over 20-thousand dollars in cash to a grandmother visiting from Italy. Felicia Lettier left her purse carrying 15-thousand Euros in the cab, which was travelling money for a group of relatives. It also contained jewelry worth thousands more and the group's passports. The 72-year-old quickly realized her mistake, but it was too late -- the cabbie had driven away. However, driver Mukul Asaduzzaman found a note in the purse with a Patchogue address and drove there. No one was home so left his cell phone number on the note, telling of his discovery. He was driving west when Lettieri's relatives called him and he drove back to Patchogue a second time to return the purse. He even refused an reward. Patchogue is about an hour outside New York City.
