Brad Paisley's dad is being praised as a hero. "The Wichita Eagle" says Doug Paisley was backstage before his son's concert January 9th at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, when an employee at the venue collapsed. The elder Paisley has many years to his credit as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, and when he saw the man on the floor, he went into action and started CPR. He says he was ready to use an automated external defibrillator when paramedics arrived, so he notes he, quote, "kind of backed off and let them use theirs." Paisley adds that it was a team effort, and he was just one of several people who helped the man while they waited for paramedics.Sedgwick County EMS Director Steve Cotter confirms, quote, "There were a couple of gentlemen doing citizen CPR on him," and, quote, "Definitely it helped sustain the gentleman until we got there." Cotter adds that paramedics arrived on the scene within three minutes of getting the call. The Wichita show was the third stop on Brad's "American Saturday Night" trek. His next performance is set for Lexington, Kentucky this Thursday.
