Swift, Brooks & Dunn, Kristofferson Honored At BMI Awards

The accolades continue to roll in for Taylor Swift. The singer's hit "Love Story" was named Song of the Year at the 57th annual BMI Country Awards Tuesday night in Nashville. Brooks & Dunn and Kris Kristofferson were also among the honorees at the event, which salutes songwriters, publishers, and the most played country songs of the year. Brooks & Dunn, who will be wrapping up their collaborative career next year, received the BMI President's Award. The rarely presented award recognizes artists who have had a distinct and profound effect on the musical landscape. Kris Kristofferson earned the prestigious BMI Icon Award for his lengthy, influential, and distinguished career.

In addition to the award, Kristofferson received a musical salute in his honor featuring Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, and Patty Griffin. The 57th annual BMI Country Awards took place at the BMI offices in Nashville Tuesday night.

The BMI Songwriter of the Year title went to Bobby Pinson. His recent credits include four of this year's most-performed country songs -- Sugarland's "All I Want To To" and "Already Gone," Toby Keith's "She Never Cried In Front Of Me," and Josh Gracin's "We Weren't Crazy."
