Julianne Hough To Receive CinemaCon Award

Julianne Hough is making an impression with her film work. The singer, dancer, and actress has been tapped to receive the CinemaCon Rising Star of 2011 Award from the National Association of Theater Owners. Hough made her big screen debut in a supporting role in the film "Burlesque," which hit theaters last fall. She's starring as Ariel in the remake of the 1980s film "Footloose," which is slated to open in theaters in October. A CinemaCon rep says Julianne has a promising film career ahead of her, which is why she was chosen for the honor. Hough will receive her prize at the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Award ceremony, which will cap off the 2011 CinemaCon. The four-day event will take place in Las Vegas from March 28th through the 31st.

Justin Moore Happy On Miranda Lambert's Tour

Justin Moore says adjusting to life on Miranda Lambert's "The Revolution Continues" tour hasn't been all that difficult. The singer explains that he got to know Miranda and her crew last year, when they were both openers on Brad Paisley's tour, so he's traveling with a familiar crowd. He says the two touring experiences are similar but there's one key change he really likes, and that's his place in the lineup. Moore adds that he's optimistic about the Lambert tour. He says they launched the trek last week with three sold out shows, which he finds very encouraging. The next stop on "The Revolution Continues" tour, which also features Josh Kelley, will be in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 24th.

Sugarland Launch 2011 Incredible Machine Tour

Sugarland is back on the road. The duo is launching the 2011 edition of their their "Incredible Machine" tour with an appearance tonight at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The extensive trek continues throughout the spring and summer. As it stands Sugarland will wrap up the tour with a show in Essex Junction, Vermont on September 4th, but more dates could be added. The tour includes stops at the Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; the WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; and the inaugural Rapids Jam in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Sugarland's openers will include Little Big Town, Casey James, Sara Bareilles, and Matt Nathanson.

ACM Entertainer Of The Year Nominees To Perform At Event

All six Entertainer of the Year nominees are on board for the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards. Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Toby Keith, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, and Keith Urban are the first confirmed performers for next month's event. Their performances will also give them one more chance to impress fans, who will be choosing the winner in an online vote. Balloting begins March 11th at www.VoteACM.com, and voting will remain open through the first two hours of the television broadcast. Entertainer of the Year is one of two categories being determined by the fans. The public is also choosing the ACM's Top New Artist. Eric Church and The Band Perry are the nominees. However, voting in that category closes at the start of the ACM Awards ceremony. The 46th annual ACM Awards will air on CBS on April 3rd at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

James Otto Without A Label

James Otto is looking for a new musical home. The singer has announced via Twitter that he's no longer with Warner Bros. Records, saying in a tweet that they have, quote, "mutually agreed it's time to part ways." He also included a link to a longer message in which he praises the company and expresses his appreciation for his time with the label. Otto said he was now focused on other things, including a USO Tour to Iraq and Kuwait and, quote, "some new opportunities with my songwriting career," but promised he'd still be performing live. James added, quote, "And since becoming a new Dad, I hope to catch my breath by spending time with my wife Amy and 6 month old daughter, Ava, who is about to crawl any second! I don't want to miss it!" He offered more assurances in a later tweet, saying, quote, "No worries Ottomaniacs this is not the last you've seen/heard from me. Just a new chapter. Thsnks for all the support & well wishes."

Otto signed with Warner Brothers in 2007. He released two albums with the label -- 2008's "Sunset Man" and 2010's "Shake What God Gave Ya."

But the trio hasn't said publicly whether or not they plan to take a stand in defense of chickens and address the issue of animal cruelty with those in attendance. Lady A's corporate gig became a potential political platform when The Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde sent the group a letter urging them to speak out against the way the fast food giant treats their living chickens. In the request, sent through PETA, Hynde includes some graphic descriptions to emphasize the severity of the situation, and asks the band to, quote, "use your unique position to appeal to the company. Woman Survives 40 Mile Ride On Hood Of Minivan

(Manteca, CA) -- A California woman is lucky to be alive after a 40-mile ride on a minivan's hood. Police in Manteca say the woman was having an argument with her husband when she tried to stop him from leaving by jumping on the hood. It didn't work as Christopher Carroll stepped on the gas, got on Interstate 205 and drove as fast as 100-miles-an-hour. Carroll finally pulled over and was promptly arrested for attempted murder. The woman was treated for hypothermia.

Duck Breaks Into Conference Room

An engineering firm in Florida had an unexpected visitor crash into their conference room this week. News-Press.com says a duck flew through a window at the Fort Myers business on Tuesday morning. Todd Griffith says he was working at a computer when all of a sudden he was joined by the duck. He remarks, quote, "I heard a loud boom, and I looked to my left and there was a duck sitting next to me. It looked at me like what are you doing here." The duck suffered a minor cut to its wing, but was returned safely to its regular habitat after being corralled by a few employees.

Naked Burglar Found In School Ceiling

Police in Covington, Georgia found a naked intruder hiding inside a local middle school last weekend. WSBTV.com says police responded to Cousins Middle School early last Saturday morning after the building's alarm went off. Authorities arrived to find several plastic crates stacked on top of each other leading to the roof. A search dog eventually led officers to a classroom ceiling where they found a naked Ronald Stevens hiding. Stevens was taken to the hospital for minor injuries before being placed in jail.

Comedy Central has announced that Snoop will be among the roasters at the "Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump." Judge Postpones Murray Trial To May 9th

The man accused in the death of Michael Jackson will have to wait a little longer for his manslaughter trial to get under way. L.A. Superior Court Judge Michael E. Pastor has decided to move opening statements in Conrad Murray's trial from April 5th to May 9th. Pastor says the ongoing exchange of information between the prosecution and Murray's defense team led to the delay. Despite the change in schedule, several hundred prospective jurors will still be completing questionnaires on March 24th.

Conrad Murray was Michael Jackson's doctor when the pop icon died from cardiac arrest on June 25th, 2009. Lethal levels of propofol were eventually found in Jackson's system. Murray has admitted to providing the drug, but denies being responsible for the singer's death. He has since pleaded not guilty to an involuntary manslaughter charge.

Bravo stars Michaele and Tareq Salahi are headed back to reality TV. The couple that gained notoriety for their dubious invitation to a 2009 White House dinner, has signed on to appear on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab." There's no word on what addiction the controversial Washington DC couple will get treatment for on the show. It was just last year that the couple made waves on "The Real Housewives of Washington DC." This season of "Celebrity Rehab" will also include former New York Mets pitcher Dwight Gooden, Lindsay Lohan's dad Michael Lohan, and actress Bai Ling. Once again, Dr. Drew Pinsky will oversee the participants' progress on the series.

This season's cast members join a list of "Celebrity Rehab" alumni that includes actor Eric Roberts, basketball player Dennis Rodman, and former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler.

Keith Urban is glad to see more American country stars take their music overseas. He says he's proof that there are country music fans all across the globe. Keith adds that such stars as Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson have a strong international following, and he suspects there are more Don Williams fans in other countries than in the U.S.

In recent years country artists have been traveling beyond the North American border to perform. Taylor Swift toured internationally behind her CDs "Fearless," and she's taking her trek this year to 19 different countries. Last year Lady Antebellum performed in the UK for the first time. In 2009 Toby Keith and Sugarland made their European debuts, and Alan Jackson gave his first-ever performances in Scandinavia. Since 2008 Brooks & Dunn, Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw, and Jack Ingram have all made their first treks to Australia. Alan Jackson is scheduled to launch his inaugural tour "down under" with a show in Melbourne this Friday.

Zac Brown Band's Zac Brown is combining his performing, music executive, and culinary skills in a new way. The group will host the inaugural Southern Ground Music and Food Festival this spring. The event will provide a showcase for Brown's group and other artists on his Southern Ground Artists label. Zac Brown Band will cap off the entertainment on the first two nights, and they've tapped Amos Lee to bring the festival to a close. The lineup also features Sonia Leigh, Nic Cowan, The Wood Brothers, Secret Sisters and others. Meanwhile, the "food" portion of the festival will give concertgoers a chance to sample recipes crafted by Brown and the band's chef, Rusty Hamlin. Brad Paisley is getting ready to hit the road -- again. The country star will be launching his "H2O II World Tour" this spring. The format for the shows will be similar to Brad's 2010 "H2O Tour," and will include the Water World Plaza. The area boasts a variety of aquatic activities for concertgoers to enjoy, along with its own stage featuring sets from Sunny Sweeney, Brent Anderson, and Edens Edge. Jerrod Niemann, who just wrapped up a run with Paisley on the "H2O Frozen Over Tour," is returning as a main stage opener, while Blake Shelton is also on board. The four-month, 33-date trek also includes eight dates through Europe. Brad will kick off the "H2O II World Tour" at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on May 28th. Reba McEntire, Bobby Braddock, and Jean Shepard are headed to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Singer Kix Brooks helped the Country Music Association make the announcement at an event in Nashville Tuesday morning. With his induction, Braddock also becomes the first inductee into the Country Music Hall's new Songwriter category. In acknowledging his induction, Braddock admitted the honor was taking him by surprise. Braddock has written numerous hits for a variety of artists, including Billy Currington's chart-topper "People Are Crazy," Tracy Lawrence's number one hit "Time Marches On," and George Jones' signature song, "He Stopped Loving Her Today," which earned him the CMA Song of the Year award. Shepard is being added to the Hall in the Veterans Era Artist, and is being honored as a trailblazer for women in country music. McEntire is being added as a Modern Era Artist. Over the course of her lengthy and successful career Reba has made a name for herself not only in music but as an actress -- in movies, on TV, and on Broadway. Nearly 60-percent say they would have sex every day if that meant they wouldn't ever gain weight again. Other women would sacrifice things they love in exchange for a lean frame. If it meant they'd never gain another pound, 45-percent are willing to give up alcohol, 35-percent would stop drinking coffee, and 29-percent would eliminate chocolate from their diet. But the majority of respondents draw the line at people, as only five-percent would cut ties with their best friend to have a slim figure for life.

Swimsuit season is the biggest weight loss motivator, with 40-percent saying the thought of slipping into skimpy beachwear prompts them to shed pounds. A third of those polled try to remain faithful to their New Year's resolutions to lose weight. Passengers Smoke Pot During Traffic Stop

Two Vermont residents had to learn the hard way that it's not a good idea to smoke marijuana during a traffic stop. The "Burlington Free Press" is reporting that Scott Patterson was stopped by Vermont State Troopers early last Sunday morning after he was allegedly seen driving erratically. Patterson reportedly had a blood-alcohol-content of point-one-eight-seven, and was arrested on DUI charges. Police placed the 30-year-old in a squad car, but returned to his vehicle to find passengers Kris Richards and Jason Beyer smoking pot inside. Richards subsequently admitted that it was a "dumb idea" to light up with the cops around. Beyer and Patterson are both due in court later this month.

Driver Passes Out After Getting Tongue Pierced, Hits House

An Illinois man may want to make sure he has a designated driver the next time he decides to get a piercing. The "Quincy Herald-Whig" says Jared Drew Hill was driving Monday evening when he passed out and drove into a house. The 27-year-old reportedly struck a traffic sign and then continued on before crashing into the home. Hill suffered minor injuries, while the person inside the house was not hurt. Hill told police that he had just gotten his tongue pierced at the Quincy Mall, adding that the last thing he remembers is driving down the road. He was ticketed for improper driving and is due back in court on April 6th.

Lindsay Lohan is speaking out in her first interview since leaving rehab in January. The troubled actress tells TV's "Extra" that she's feeling great and is focusing on her recovery. She said that she misses being on set and know that there are a lot of steps she'll have to go through to prove herself again as a bankable actress. Lohan, who was released from a three-month stay in rehab in early January, was recently charged with felony grand theft in connection to a stolen necklace. She pled not guilty and is scheduled to return to court March 10th to decide whether or not to take a plea deal. If she does, the judge said she would serve jail time.

Charlie Sheen's twin sons are reportedly back in the custody of his ex-wife, at least for now. Police removed the boys, Bob and Max, from the actor's home late Tuesday after a judge granted Brooke Mueller a temporary restraining order against Sheen. The actor later posted a message on his newly-launched Twitter feed that read, "My sons' are fine... My path is now clear... Defeat is not an option...!" Sheen is reportedly planning to fight the move in court. According to TMZ.com, Mueller claimed in a declaration that Charlie threatened her with violence. She reportedly said the actor told her, quote, "I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom." She also claims that as recently as February 23rd the actor threw a phone inside his house and threatened to stick a penknife in her eye.

Mueller's lawyer says while the restraining order is in effect, Mueller will get to see her sons for about four hours a day and that her mother will look after the kids for the rest of the day while Mueller participates in a "day treatment" facility for substance abuse. Sheen and Mueller's divorce was finalized last month. The pair split in 2009 after a domestic dispute landed Sheen in jail on Christmas Day of that year.

Two Arrested For Stealing Ambulance

Police say they took the vehicle from a QuikTrip store parking lot in north Tulsa but the GPS unit on board led police to the vehicle. Police say they tracked the ambulance down on an area highway but the suspects led them on a very low-speed chase. The two were finally taken into custody with officials saying Sheldon Rowe was the driver and Jason Williams was the passenger.

Most people are expecting the price of gas to continue to go up. Nearly 90-percent of those taking part in a new Rasmussen Reports poll say they believe the political instability in Arab nations such as Egypt and Libya means Americans will be paying more to put fuel in their vehicles. Only six-percent don't think it's "likely" that there'll be a hike in gas prices in the coming months, and just one-percent don't believe it's "at all likely" the price of gas will change significantly. More than 85-percent are already feeling a pinch at the pump. The majority say they're shelling out more for gas now than they were this time last year, and believe gas prices will be even higher six months from now.

High School Student Suspended Over Rosary Beads

KSDK.com is reporting that Rodrigo Avila was suspended for five days for wearing rosary beads to Collinsville High School. Intoxicated Passenger Steals Cab, Crashes Into Utility Pole

A New York City cab driver was taken for an unexpected ride by an inebriated passenger over the weekend. The "New York Daily News" says Michael Findley was arrested early last Saturday morning after he allegedly stole Mohammed Latif's taxi. Latif told police he decided to give Findley a ride after he promised not to eat the food he was carrying inside the vehicle. However, once Latif began driving, Findley began eating and spilling rice all over the cab. Latif proceeded to pull over and order the 31-year-old out of his taxi, at which time Findley allegedly punched Latif twice and jumped behind the wheel of the car. Findely wound up driving the wrong way down a one-way street before he eventually crashed the car into a utility pole. He is now facing several criminal charges, including drunken driving and robbery.

TV Land Picks Up "Cleveland" For A Third Season

It looks like things are remaining "Hot In Cleveland." TV Land announced this week that its renewing the half-hour comedy for a third season. "Hot In Cleveland's" season three, 22-episode run will begin filming this summer. Since its debut last year, the show has emerged as the highest-rated and most-watched series in the history of the cable network. In February, cast member Betty White picked up a Screen Actors Guild statue for her work on the series, beating out the likes of "30 Rock's" Tina Fey and "Nurse Jackie" star Edie Falco in the process. Veteran TV director Suzanne Martin -- whose resume includes work on "Frasier" and "Ellen" -- will continue to serve as the show runner, producer, and writer.

The public seems to be split over the fate of "Two and a Half Men." In a series of AccessHollywood.com polls, 58-percent say they believe CBS was, quote, "right to pull the plug" on production of the show following star Charlie Sheen's latest radio outburst. But 56-percent don't think this should mark the end of the series. The vote is split 50-50 over whether "Two and a Half Men" could survive without Charlie, with half of the respondents saying, quote, "Charlie is the show" and half believing the sitcom could still be good with a new leading man." Regarding who should get the job if CBS chooses to go that route, John Stamos and Rob Lowe are the frontrunners, with both earning more than 30-percent of the vote. Sixteen-percent think David Spade would be a good replacement for Sheen, and 12-percent would put Denis Leary on the show. Seven-percent would like to see the part go to David Duchovny.

WPXI.com is reporting that six-thousand-dollars worth of crack cocaine and several sex toys were found during an undercover drug bust at R&B Childcare Services last Friday. The owner of the business, Reanell Booker, was the only one arrested following the investigation. She is facing drug charges, and could also be charged with child endangerment. Khedijah Baskin recently took her child out of R&B Childcare Services, but says the news is still shocking. A high school gym class in Florida was recently the target of one woman's obscene gesture. According to TCPalm.com, Lori Lauer was arrested February 14th for allegedly mooning students at Sebastian River High School. A police officer reportedly spotted the 51-year-old by the back of the school and asked her what she was doing on campus. Lauer claimed she was at the school to get her daughter and couldn't find her car. The officer directed Lauer to the front parking lot, but when he drove away he reportedly saw her bend over and expose her backside to a nearby gym class. The officer described the incident in his report, saying, quote, "I heard what appeared to be yells, whistling and cheering from the large group of students." Lauer is now facing misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and disruption or interference of a school function.

A manager tried to get the 34-year-old to put her clothes back on when she returned to the bar, but Batcher refused and locked herself in the men's room. The trailer for the comedy sequel "The Hangover: Part Two" has been released, with Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms living it up in Thailand. The one-minute "Hangover: Part Two" trailer features images of a trashed hotel room, as well as a slow-motion clip of Galifianakis, Cooper and Helms walking the streets of Bangkok with a monkey. "The Hangover: Part Two" is the follow-up to 2009's smash hit "The Hangover," which has grossed more than 467-million-dollars worldwide. "The Hangover: Part Two" will feature cameos from the original film's more memorable characters, including "Community" star Ken Jeong and boxing legend Mike Tyson. Paul Giamatti will also be making an appearance, while Liam Neeson will be starring in a role that was originally intended for Mel Gibson.

Former President Bill Clinton also stopped by during filming of the movie, although Ed Helms says he'd be surprised if Clinton winds up appearing in the film. "The Hangover: Part Two" will be arriving in theaters on Memorial Day weekend.

Oscars To Be Presented Sunday

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will be presented this weekend. The British drama "The King's Speech" leads all nominees this year with 12 nominations. The Coen brothers' remake of the classic Western "True Grit" is vying for ten Oscar nominations, while Christopher Nolan's sci-fi thriller "Inception" and the Facebook-origins movie "The Social Network" are up for eight nods each. Oscars Staying On ABC Until 2020

The ongoing relationship between the Academy Awards and ABC will continue for at least one more decade. On Thursday, ABC and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that they've extended their agreement for an additional six years. The Oscars will now air on ABC until 2020. ABC executive Anne Sweeny says they're "thrilled" to continue their partnership, while the Academy's Tom Sherak adds, quote, "This contract ensures that the Oscar show will be an ABC tradition for 45 consecutive years." Last year's Oscars broadcast was watched by 41-point-seven-million people, making it the most watched ceremony in the past five years. Charlie Sheen Calls Sitcom Creator "Contaminated Maggot"

Charlie Sheen is not going down without a fight. Reacting to CBS' decision to shut down production on his sitcom, the actor fired off a strongly-worded letter Thursday night, calling "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre "a contaminated little maggot," among other things. Sheen also accused Lorre of not being able to handle his power and the truth. In the letter, posted on TMZ.com, Sheen also urged fans to walk with him "side-by-side," quote, "as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong." White House Pays Tribute To Motown

(South Berwick, ME) -- Boots the cat is expected to make a full recovery after being rescued from a storm drain in Maine. The feline was stuck last Thursday in South Berwick when someone noticed its head sticking out of the grate. State highway officials were called to the scene and started chipping ice away that was frozen over part of the grate. They were eventually able to lift the grate up and take Boots out of the drain. She was sedated and then taken to a vet for a check-up. They say she's fine and has eight more lives to go.

Huffing compressed air while behind the wheel of a car proved to be a bad move for one Illinois man. The "State Journal-Register" is reporting that Frederick Wunker was arrested last Friday for allegedly crashing into a fence. Springfield police were able to locate the 48-year-old by following a trail of broken car parts from the fence to Wunker's home. When authorities arrived at Wunker's house they noticed he had a cut above his right eye and four cans of compressed air on his couch. Wunker reportedly admitted to huffing air while driving, but claims he doesn't remember running into the fence. He is now facing several charges including failure to notify the owner of the fence.

According to the "Naples Daily News," Hersha Howard was arrested last Sunday for allegedly fighting with her roommate over a box of Thin Mints. The 31-year-old reportedly entered the roommate's bedroom and accused her of eating the cookies. The roommate denied the allegations, but offered to pay Howard ten dollars for the cookies. Howard was apparently in no mood for money, as she allegedly began attacking the woman. Howard is accused of threatening the woman with a pair of scissors during the dispute, and striking her with a board. The police were eventually called, and Howard was taken to jail. The Collier County resident has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
